Approaching achievement holistically
Begin Your Chicago Journey Here
Eager to start your “U of C” experience early? Why not spend your summer on campus experiencing new challenges with new friends? Funded by the Odyssey Scholarships, CAAP provides first-year students with a variety of resources to support the transition from high school to life as an undergraduate at the University of Chicago. Beginning in the summer prior to enrollment, CAAP Scholars learn about campus resources, participate in preview courses, and go on group outings to sites and events all over the city of Chicago as part of the residential Summer Academy. During their first academic year, CAAP Scholars attend several study sessions per week in lieu of paid employment, for which they receive grant assistance to offset their expected self-help contribution.
